Rennie Gabriel  00:09
Hi, folks, welcome to Episode 63 of the Wealth On Any Income Podcast. This is where we talk about money tips, techniques, attitudes, information, and provide inspiration. In past episodes, we spoke about how to build an income and expense report, how to measure the level of pleasure based on where you spend your money, how to track your money in 5 - 10 seconds, what to look for in a net worth statement to see how close you are to Complete Financial Choice™. And last week, we had John, where we did an actual coaching session for his million-dollar business. Today, we have as our guest, Erik Luhrs. Erik, Did I pronounce that correctly?

Erik Luhrs  00:50
Yes.

Rennie Gabriel  00:51
Good. Erik is a Highly Uncommon High Performance Coach. Previously, he created the Guru's Selling System, and wrote the book Be Do Sale. Currently, he works with executives and entrepreneurs, who have used high performance coaching, but feel that they are capable of far more than that kind of coaching can provide. Erik helps them by working at the levels above high performance. Erik, welcome to the Wealth On Any Income Podcast.

Erik Luhrs  01:24
Thanks for having me on my friend.

Rennie Gabriel  01:26
Well, let's get right to it with some questions.  I sort of said what you do in your bio but tell me more and why.

Erik Luhrs  01:38
Okay, so I would say it's sort of... it's one of those journeys back to the beginning. When I, you know, I did 10 years in Corporate America. And then I did 5 years as a management consultant, and I started my own business. And around about 16 years ago, I became a business coach. And when I was doing business coaching, I had these sort of large ideas for, you know, I believed in the power of people and the mind and what people can do together, all these wonderful things that could be achieved. But at the same time, I was really coaching small, very small businesses. I wanted to get back into Corporate America and my coach at the time said, 'Well, you know, focus in on something that Corporate America really cares about then' and whatever. So I said, 'Okay, well, you know, every corporation cares about sales' - that begat the the Guru Selling System, and I applied my Neuro-linguistic Programming training, I was a Master Practitioner in that, and Silva and other cognitive behavioral systems. So I went very much into the subconscious mind, I got very well known for that, and I was doing sales training and all that. And then I said, you know, but I want to better leverage sales. And so I said, 'Well, what you know - you gotta look at the thing that comes before sales.' And that led to lead generation. And I said, 'Okay', and I again, apply the subconscious thing and I ended up creating Subconscious Lead Generation. So now I had two different systems, right? I said, 'Well, you know, better leveraging sales through lead gen, maybe I should be really smart and try to better leverage lead gen. What comes before lead gen?', You know, it became like, it became like a little puzzle for me, right? I said, 'Well, it's positioning'. And I went out - and there wasn't much to learn from at the time. So I ended up teaching a lot of it to myself and I created the Peerless Positioning System. I was like YAY... you know, Erik's created three systems, and I was always learning, learning, learning and wanting to create. Low about two years ago, I was like, Okay, I'm going to better leverage positioning I was about to... what comes before positioning - brand, I was going to do a branding thing. And I said, 'Wait a minute, this is getting stupid. I'm just going to create system after system after system.' And I said, 'let me just take this journey all the way - what comes before brand? Well, the founder or the leader, or whatever?' I said, 'Okay. What comes before them?' The funny joke would be their parents - but I said, 'No, you know, their mind, their thoughts, whatever - their mindset. And then what comes before that? - well,  their beingness. And what comes before that? You know, the spirit, source that they come from' - right? Now I went all the way up to the top of the mountain. Then I looked back at my clients over the years that had, you know, I mean, I've had clients that to date, my best success story was still taking one of my clients from about $150,000 pipeline to roughly 12 million in eight weeks.

Rennie Gabriel  04:30
Oh, goodness gracious.

Erik Luhrs  04:32
And at the time, I wanted to say it's because Erik's positioning and messaging skills are unequal in the world and nobody could touch me. To be fair, yeah, I have some good systems, you know, some good methodologies and tactics and strategies and whatever. But what it really came down to when I looked at the people that I had done these amazing things with I said, you know, they transformed. They changed and without that change my tech... you know, it wouldn't have mattered what the hell I give them, I could give them a cardboard box. But with that change they would have taken it and made magic. I said 'Okay, well wait a minute wasn't my magic... you know, it was a little bit me and 99.9% them - what the hell happened?' Well, they transform as a person. And so over the past year and a half, it's been this sort of soul journey, like, well, what was the change? What was it, you know what really happened? And I realized that they had moved up-level. They had gone from the lower levels of performance, which are focusing on tactics and strategies, and they had transcended that. And they had moved - and they had moved above that. And it's been a year and a half journey of trying to figure out what the hell is up above that, you know, and there's all these different words and things that people throw out there. And finally, it was like, okay, after studying with Joe Dispenza and Abraham Hicks, and, you know, reading up on high performance coaches, and what they are teaching and mindset and all this stuff. I'm like, Alright, I finally figured it out, then the next two levels that transcend people and geometrically enhance levels below. And so now understanding what those levels are, I said, Okay, well, I was doing it by accident, helping these people at those levels. Maybe I should actually think about doing that an focus on it and then that way, instead of going out there and - sometimes good, sometimes bad - let me work on that level, and boom, you know, really get the transformations for people in their businesses and, you know, the leaders and executives and entrepreneurs and their businesses and their missions and their lives.

Rennie Gabriel  06:31
And can you label those two levels?

Erik Luhrs  06:34
Sure. So I always like to think of it as a lever. Yeah, like moving a stone, right? Certain size lever... you know, give me a lever and fulcrum, and everything. So the first level, the shortest version of a lever would be tactics - would be going out there and efforting through things, 'I'm going to make a thousand cold calls today'. That's a tactic. Above that is strategy. So strategy is - 'I'm going to plan out my tactics.' So that's the second you know, it's longer, but again, it's lower levels. It's physical body, you know. So that's the... tactics is body, strategy is the physical brain. And then high performance comes in, where you try to optimize those two things. That's normal, high performance coaching. Above that though, if you say, 'Okay, look, I want to make an even longer lever, what can I use?' Well, that next level is mind or mental. Now people say, 'Well, wait a minute, Erik you just said brain.' Well, the physical brain I compare it to a CPU that's inside the body, right? So if I ask you to remember your cousin's first name, yeah, it's already in there, you can remember it. But I ask you to create a brand new story for your cousin involves - I don't know -trolls, and three shoes, and a hamburger - all of a sudden, you have to become creative, and you have to start reaching outside of yourself. And they've measured this, that when people will have to start coming up with ideas and such that are outside of anything they've ever done before, the brain starts firing off new patterns and they can measure that feet away from the body. They have these sensors that they put out to sense electromagnetic fields, and they're watching the brain light up and they're watching these, these sensors, 6 and 10 feet away from the brain go 'Oh, we're sensing in a magnetic field happening here'. Well, that wouldn't happen if I could just recall this from inside my own CPU. So I'm reaching out into the internet now of the.. well you can call it the, you know, the universe or other people's consciousness, whatever it is. I don't know I'm still fumbling around in the dark here. I just know it's there. And so that's that mental level, you're actually using your mind as opposed to just utilizing your brain. Utilizing this... the small CPU you have now you're, you're in touch with everything. And so the fourth level, the highest level is what I call spirit, or spiritual, or higher self - it all depends on how you look at it. It's kind of where the the ultimate version of you, or the highest version of you, the truest version of you. The version of you that sees all the chess pieces and the entire chessboard and every move back and forward and everything. That version of you exists and it taps into ultimately source you know, the source of everything - oneness, etc. So those are the levels and what's really interesting is... like at that at that level, when you get up into the mental and then the spirit level, you get all the stuff that you want. You're happy, you reach flow state, serendipity happens, you know, all the things that people say they want. And we've all been there. We've all had those moments when we were looking at like a beautiful sunset or you're driving along on the road and kind of zoning out and all of a sudden when your brain is empty -  boom, like some brilliant idea comes to you. Like 'holy crap, why didn't I ever think of that before!' Notice the language - 'why didn't I ever think of that before.'  And then the answer to some question comes to you, you know, five days ago, you couldn't remember something or five days ago, you were like trying to come up with something,  and boom, it comes into you. And that's because your higher self is always there. It has been since the day you were born. It was there before you were born, and it'll be there after you... because it's you - it's the real you. And it's always trying to answer your questions and solve your problems and everything. And so I find it really funny that people have been trying to reach that. These you know, people studying like flow state stuff, and they always go right back to the brain, like, how do we make the brain do this? How do we make... and you don't. You know, it's kind of like, if you have a car, and you're like, how do I make this car fly? You don't - there are things called planes. And you get it, you know, you drive your car to the plane, and then you get in the plane and you take off. You know, you don't - because if you slap wings on your '78 Chevelle, you're not going anywhere. I don't even know if there was a '78 Chevelle - you know, so, so cars enthusiasts out there, like, wait a minute, there's no '78..

Rennie Gabriel  11:04
No there probably was.

Erik Luhrs  11:08
But yeah, so you know, those are the levels, when you really work at those highest levels, everything else takes care of itself, people put so much effort into, you know, their business. Let's go back to business. Their tactics and their strategies. And high performance. It's like, okay, I want to bring in a high performance coach, and this is why I do what I do. Highly uncommon, high performance coaching. High performance coaches come in and since they view the world in terms of tactics and strategies, all they're trying to do is optimize your effort. And so they end up doing something that I call - instead of high performance - I call it hyper-performance. And all it really is is like, how to figure out how to live and work right at the red line of your engine all the time. So that yourcalendar, you know, the people who like open up their calendar, they're like, 'Look, every minute of my life is scheduled'. And they're proud of this, they are like, 'Look, I scheduled 15 minutes of free time.  I going to need to get in there and schedule something because I don't know what to do with it.'.

Rennie Gabriel  12:28
I'm just - I'm chuckling because I looked at my appointment book, and there was nothing booked for Tuesday. And I said, 'Oh, that looks so beautiful. I want more of those.'

Erik Luhrs  12:40
Yeah. Yeah. That's what everybody wants, right? Well, that's the funny thing, they say they want that. And then they start to get a little bit of that, and they get terrified, like, 'what do I do without filling up my...?' You know and so when you're doing this high performance stuff, you're like, 'wow, I'm maximized, I'm optimized, I'm a machine'. And if that's how you want to view yourself, you know, knock yourself out. But you said, Well, what do you know, what do you really want, I want to be happy. Okay, you know,  you're not gonna find happiness in optimizing yourself as a machine. You know, happiness is a much higher energy than effort. You know, I want to have fun, I want to be happy. I want nice things to come to me without effort. I want serendipity. I want those happy accidents, one after another. And I want to experience a really fun, wonderful life. And yet, they think that by optimizing their energy that that's going to come and it's funny because that by optimizing their energy, it's like, well, if you keep asking, Why are you doing this? Why are you doing this? Ultimately say - 'Well. to be happy?' And I'm like, 'Well, what if you were just happy now?'

Rennie Gabriel  13:53
Yeah, I, I love what you said. And I don't know if it was just a throwaway comment, or you've actually concentrated on this. But it was that happiness is at a higher level than optimization. Yes. And I wrote that down as a quote, I love it.

Erik Luhrs  14:10
Oh, well - thank you.

Rennie Gabriel  14:12
You're welcome. So if you create a quote card, like one of my mentors had, that people don't throw away, you can add that to your quote card.

Erik Luhrs  14:22
I will add that to my quote... People say that to me all the time they're like, 'Wow, that was a great statement'. And see when I'm talking right now... because I try to live myself more and more aligned with my higher self. I live, what I call out in the field - so that even though I'm talking my attention is here, but my awareness is outside of me. If that makes sense. And so when I start talking, I'm actually allowing... A good chunk of the words coming out of my mouth are actually coming from my higher self. So I take, I try to take my brain out of the middle of things because it ends up just being a long jam most of the time anyway. I take my brain out of the middle of things. So a lot of people, that's why I have these sessions and at the end of it people are like, they're sitting there like, wow, 'oh my gosh,' And I', like, 'Okay, cool.' They're like, 'You just changed my life.' And I'm like, 'Alright, I hope you remember what I said, because I don't.'

Rennie Gabriel  15:22
It's a good thing we're recording this. I've had glimpses of exactly what you're talking about. Where someone I'm talking to needs an answer from something and something flows through my mouth that I know did not come from my brain.

Erik Luhrs  15:38
Yep.

Rennie Gabriel  15:39
And that sounds like what you're talking about. Well, we need to start wrapping things up.

Erik Luhrs  15:46
Okay

Rennie Gabriel  15:46
So I'm going to ask you two more questions. And one of them is because I donate 100% of the profits from the work I do to charity. I know there's a particular charity you support. Tell me what it is.

Erik Luhrs  16:01
St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Rennie Gabriel  16:04
Yep. And if they don't, and if people don't know, their focus is on solving childhood diseases and taking care of children. They shouldn't be listening to me or you. And, you know, I know that people after your conversation are going to want to know more, is there some free resource that you can direct people to?

Erik Luhrs  16:28
Sure, sure. They can go on over to Erik Luhrs. So that's, www.erikluhrs.com/power.

Rennie Gabriel  16:38
Perfect and I will put that in the show notes in case someone forgets how to spell your name.

Erik Luhrs  16:44
Okay, that is to sign up for a One Question Power Session with me. It's about a 20 - 30 minute session between you and I. What the purpose of it is... you know, you can hear me talk about working with a higher self all day long. But you know, half of you wants to believe it and half of you is... eh...  So don't believe me - put it to the test. And you come with one question that stands, you know, you have different things in your life that you want to do. So you're going to come with one powerful question that stands between you and something you want to achieve. And we're going to nail that question down, and you and I and your higher self... Oh, that's the other thing I forgot. I'm actually able to communicate with other people's higher selves. So you and I and your higher self are going to co-create and co-conceive that perfect solution or that perfect answer to that question for you so that you can finally move forward on whatever that thing is. And you can see once and for all, that you actually do have a higher self that's trying to work with you.

Rennie Gabriel  17:45
That's beautiful. Thank you, Erik. And, and I remember taking advantage of this months ago, which has changed the course of the work that I'm doing. So I'm glad I took advantage of that. And I'm so grateful to have you on the show. And so Erik, thank you for being on the show.

Erik Luhrs  18:05
Thank you so much.

Rennie Gabriel  18:07
